Termeh

Termeh (Persian: ترمه‎) is a type of Iranian handwoven cloth, produced primarily in the Yazd province. Weaving Termeh requires good wool with long fibers. An expert weaves Termeh with the assistance of a worker called a Goushvareh-kesh. Weaving Termeh is a sensitive, careful, and time-consuming process; a good weaver can produce only 25 to 30 centimeters (10 to 12 in) daily. The background colors used in Termeh are jujube red, light red, green, orange, and black. Although nowadays Termeh is not 100% handmade.

I've now purchased three items from this shop - a set of 2 tea glasses, a coal samovar and a wooden shisha. Reasonably priced, all great craftsmanship and beautiful packaging. It's difficult to find authentic Persian items where I'm from. The customer service has also been great - I've had all my questions answered almost immediately.

My recent purchase from Persis was a great experience. The items arrived exactly as they had been advertised and much faster than I had expected. Despite a relatively pricy delivery cost, it worked out much cheaper than getting equivalent items in Australia. I will definitely consider Persis for my next purchase.
