TAZHIB
Tazhib is a traditional Persian art form that involves decorating objects with intricate patterns and designs using gold and silver leaf, as well as other materials such as colored inks and enamels. Tazhib can be applied to a wide range of objects, including books, boxes, and other decorative items. It is also sometimes used to decorate eggs for the Persian New Year, or Nowruz. These decorated eggs, known as “Nowruz eggs” or “Haft-Seen eggs,” are traditionally hard-boiled and painted with bright colors. The use of turquoise in tazhib design is particularly popular in Iran and other countries in the region, and it is often used to create intricate and elegant patterns on decorated eggs and other objects.
