Nane Sarma
Nane Sarma is one of the traditional customs of Nowruz, the Persian New Year, which is celebrated on the spring equinox, typically on March 21st. It is a practice in which families gather around the Haftsin table and the father of the family pours a spoonful of sugar (Sarma) over a specific tree leaf (Nane Sarma) and hangs it above the entrance door. This practice symbolizes a sweet new year and is meant to bring good luck and prosperity to the family.
