Golden Birds Haft-seen set

The Haft Seen Set is a traditional arrangement of seven items which is displayed on the Sofreh-ye Haft Seen during the Persian New Year, Nowruz. Each item holds a specific symbolic meaning for the coming new year. The seven items commonly included in the Haft Seen set are:

Sabzeh, typically made of wheat, barley or lentil sprouts grown in a dish, symbolizing the rebirth and renewal of spring.
Samanu, a sweet pudding made from wheat germ, symbolizes wealth and prosperity.
Senjed, dried fruit from the lotus tree, symbolizes love and affection.
Seer, usually apples, symbolizing good health and beauty.
Seeb, typically coins, symbolizing financial wealth and success.
Sumac, a spice that symbolizes sunrise, representing the arrival of a new day and new beginnings.
Serkeh, vinegar, symbolizing age and patience.

It is also common to include other items such as a goldfish in a bowl, symbolizing life, a mirror, symbolizing the reflective nature of the new year and others.
The Haft Seen set is typically arranged on a traditional tablecloth called “Sofreh”, it is considered a meaningful and significant aspect of the Nowruz celebrations, widely observed by Iranian communities and many cultures in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the Balkan Peninsula.
